IMO the eagle with the thick wreath around the swastika is definitively a fake stamp.

                Gents,

I was being imprecise when I said that this is a reproduction. The holster itself is an original DDR holster for the P.08 but the markings are fake, making the holster appear something that it is not. Both sets of stamped markings are reproductions and are incorrect. If the eagle on the back was meant to be a military stamp it would have a WaA# beneath it. If it was meant to be a police marking it would have a single letter below the wing or on the breast. It is however a fake generic eagle stamp seen on these East German holsters.

The holster itself is different mainly in the way it is cut at the top of the front piece and the lack of a standing loop on the front of the flap for the leather tab to thread through. DDR holsters of this type were rubber stamp marked on the interior of the flap but this is easily removed as has been done in this case. The original East German marking was at the base of the tool pouch where you can see it was rubbed away. Notice that the cut out dip for gripping the pistol is much deeper and very angular on the East German holster as opposed to the wartime police or military holster.

Overall it is a fake that is made to appear to be someting it is not I am afriad.
