From what I can see, it appears to be a good deal unless there has been something done to it that I cannot see to lower the value.

              The seller says to me.

As for the viewer, these holes in my idea 100% original and not a replica. This can be traced to the fact that at the top of the latch bolt home, a small particle is carved steel. This modification should at the same time produces when k98 is produced. So after bleuing and shoot in the selctie for the most pure shooting weapons.

Also at the finish of this piece of steel be feared, to see this in the production of the weapon made, not later. An early k98 intensive use throughout the war as a normal k98 and then into a viewer option is also quite illogical. One can clearly see that the weapon is equipped with the original bleuing. This conclusion is confirmed by other people could see that the notches are bleuing This confirms that the recesses above the room and next to the bolt in the production process are made.

I have the info, pictures from the book by a fellow collector of the Internet. I bought the k98 bought because it contains a number equal bolt. And not so much by the viewer mounting slots. I have not actively searched for an appropriate viewer because this rather costly. And because I was only looking for an equal number bolt.

From what I see in the pictures, it appears the metal numbers are different from the stock ones....The metal is 1499 and the wood is something like 12.....The bayonet lug also looks like a different number.....I also don't see pictures of the bands, which concerns me......IF that's the case, the rifle's likely been restocked, after a sporterizing job.....I'm also not sure about the notched receiver.....JP Sauer was responsible for building a few turret snipers, but the mounts were placed on with soft-solder and screws......I don't personally recognize this as any particular sniper rifle set up from WW2......Bodes

I agree with Bodes, I think this was a sporter rifle that was re-stocked. The bayonet lug has "19" on it, as well as "655" (which is a Mauser WaA, not a JP Sauer). Also, the front sight has been messed with, and has what looks like a bead sight mounted on it.

I too happen to think that it has been forced matched in places. I dont like the front site markings, they are very sloppy for German production and the font looks off.
