M14 us rifle sling

Hi,

Could someone please lead me where to get a nice M14 US Rifle sling in canvas from the Vietnam era, most likely marked and dated?

Ebay is the best source of a cheap sling. Also during the time when the M14 was in service slings were not generally manufacturer marked. The only marking you might see would be an "MRT" stamp with date.

Just one question, where Nam slings made in canvas or in nylon?
Am I right to supposse that MRT means mildrew treatment?

Yes, MRT=Mildew Resistant Treatment.

As to nylon or cotton, you could see either. It depends on what timeframe you want to portray. 1950's- mid 1960's you would only see cotton web, newer you could use nylon.

Personally I prefer the cotton because it looks better and I prefer it for shooting, the nylon has too much slip.
