    Norwegian reissue Kar98K

I was curious if anyone could assist me with an approximate value for my 98K?

1937 dated S/42. Cleaning rod present. Overall condition is very good -- no pitting, minor dings to the stock. A well cared for rifle that's 70 years old.

Rifle was reissued to the Norwegian military in the postwar years. HAER stamp just ahead of the serial #. Rechambered for 7.62.

Nice shooter although after a box I'm done. Kicks like a mule but not as bad as a G.33/40.

Hard for me to value the rifle in the US but in Norway we have lots of them, valued here around $ 2-300. HÆR marking means ARMY.

    Best regards, Tom

I am no expert but I have a question. Yours is a 1937 dated Kar98k with a sight hood? It seems that all of mine that are 1940 or earlier dates have no groove for the sight hood.

        Denny,
You're correct. No sight hood. I must have been thinking of my G 33/40. Oops.

Tom: thanks for your comment. I'm just looking for an approximate value for insurance purposes
