This Luger was recently aquired by a friend of mine, according to the new owner it is 7.65mm in caliber, and the grips are replaced. It appears to me that it is marked "LAS" and crown over "N" and "B". Any idea when and where this luger was manufactured? How commonly found and the current market value?

Sorry for the huge pictures - its now been resized to a suitable resolution.
Thanks for the reply Rylan, your right - it is a commercial luger, with couple of parts missing, I just did a bit of research and found out:
"N" proofmark = German "Nitro" commercial proof. Found on Lugers produced after 1920.
"B" proofmark = German military receiver proof. Found on Erfurt Lugers produced 1908-1918.
What still has me wondering is what this "LAS" marking on the frame which I never seen, I'm guessing its from the same German DWM "Nitro" commercial luger?Last edited by Günter; 05-04-2009, 03:09 AM.
