    COLT 1911A1 Pickup

Bought this from the vets granddaughter today. Good solid pistol with honest usage. Have no idea why it looks like the trigger has been changed, any ideas? Serial number puts it being made in 1942.
Any comments would be appreciated and a good value on this one? I bought it fairly reasonable and will probably put it on Estand in a few days at a reasonable price. Thanks guys, Alex

nice pistol, the trigger should be a (knurled) milled type not the serrated one that is on it now, the slide should be serialed to the frame in this pistols serial range, just drop the firing pin stop down to see if the slide is serialed to the frame if so that is a good thing. you can always find the correct trigger it will be expensive but worth the $$ spent WB Colts command a high price. i had one in the same serial range and another 2 in the 700,000K serial range. also how is the barrel marked? it should have a big G in front of the lugs and have Colt 45 Auto on the lower left side above the lugs with a P stamped on the lug below on same side. and it has a 1911 mainspring housing instead of the A1 arched another high dollar piece well worth finding for the pistol
