Had a call from a guy yesterday who has one of these mammoths. Said it has been hanging in his great-uncles shop for the past 35 years!! He wants to sell it and I know what decent examples sell for but this one has a busted stock behind the pistol grip and the bipod is missing (as most are) so what would be a fair price? He said the barrel and reciever are pretty nice, but I'll have to see it first. I have no real interest in keeping it and will be flipping it so I don't want to pay anymore than I have to. Cool... So, you want to low ball "the guy" and flip it to one of us to likely maximize your profit? And you're asking us for help? Just want to make sure I understand your question?

The missing bipod and stock damage are factors that (IMO) substantially reduce the value of the gun. A correct bipod is VERY hard to find. I saw one sell for $1,500 6-8 months ago, and that is the first one I've ever seen "on the loose". Thus, it is not like you can just waive $1,500 or so and a correct original bipod will jump out of the woodwork.

We will need to see photos of the stock damage in order to evaluate same.

I've got some limited interest in these guns but I have not really kept up with prices. A local friend of mine picked one up (via an interenet contact) about 4 years ago for $3,500 (it was all original and complete). Around the same time frame, several really nice originals were on tables at the Tulsa, OK show for $5,000 to $6,000. I've recently seen what is advertised as a 100% correct, complete and undamaged original for $10,000 (but I think that is too much and the gun has not sold).

I can't speak for others, but without a correct original bipod (or an option to purchase same from a 3rd party), I would not be interested in the gun unless the price was at a very substantial discount off the current market price for a correct orginal gun.

Tell you what...check out what I sell and the prices I ask and you'll see I do not try and ram it up anybody here on the forum!! If you don't want to answer...FINE...understand the question now????? And I'm sure you sell everything for exactly what you pay for it??
