    MG Lafette code

    Hi,
According to the "Red Book" "btm" was Huelsbeck & Fuerst, Schlossfabrik (lockmaker?) from Velbert/Rhld (Rheinland?).
I've not seen this on the top of a Lafette before - that spot usually shows "fsu" or "eat" - less often "etc", but I'm sure I've seen "btm" on the side of the elevating mechanism.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Grosfuss

        btm Lafette

        Hi,
Any chance of some more photos of the rest of either of these "btm" stamped Lafetten?
Interesting that both have a "b" after the serial number - until I check on my "fsu" in the morning I can't remember if it has a letter suffix as found on firearms of the Wehrmacht.
These things are a topic all of its own!
        Best regards,
        Grossfuss

            Lafette code

            Hello again,
Checked on my 1943 fsu and serial number is 2022 a.
The elevating mechanism is also 1943 made by bkh.
Request for photos was purely out of interest in the subject - no offence intended.
The tripod that started the thread looks in very fine condition, a couple of overall shots would have been interesting.
If this reply evokes the response of a fine photo of a pair of overalls then I'll wish I hadn't joined in!
            Regards to all,
            Grossfuss
