    VIS-35 / P.35(p)

    Hello,

Allow me to share with you some few images of a new addition: this nice Radom Vis-35 with holster, both in excellent condition (in my humble opinion).

For your review there is a Type II (three levers, no stock lug) Radom, serial number L9894. All matching, including barrel. No markers mark on the holster. The only "issues" are the slightly bended lanyard ring and two small cracks in the right grip's screw holes. According to the information provided by a fellow collector, this example was made in about March, 1943.

    Hope you enjoy it!

    Douglas.

It looks like a nice Radom, but I suggest that too me it also looks to have been reblued including a slight buff/polish before hand.

I am far from an expert on these, but I would also question the estimated production date provided by the other guy. I 3 lever in that block would seem to me to date closer to mid 1941 than mid 1943. If anyone has factual information on letter blocks and the corresponding production months I would really appreciate the information.

I agree, Phil - a nice Radom, but it has been buffed and reblued.

                          Well, your comments surprised me.
I don't think the gun was buffed and reblued. The marks are deep and the gun was examined by other experts and no one ever suggested that the gun was refinished.

                          Thanks for your points anyway.

                            Douglas,

Check out the blurring and/or obliteration of the markings on the left side of the slide; all is this is due to buffing during the refinishing process. Also, on the front left side towards the muzzle end it looks like some reminants of deep pits remain, after buffing.

You may want to look at Axis Pistols or other reference sources for photos of confirmed examples of original finish, then compare those to yours.

Again, it is a nice gun but if you bought it based on originality of finish, you have some issues that need to be addressed with the seller.

                            Alan

Many people here know more than I, but my first thought the second I saw the first pic was that it had been refinished. My 2 cents.
