Conventional sights on high turret ZF39?

Can the conventional sights on a K98k high turret ZF39 sniper still be used when the scope is installed? As far as I can understand the turrets are shaped so that you have a "tunnel" to view through to the conventional sights? Can someone please tell me if this is correct?

Yes it is correct and true for both the so-called high and low turret configuration.
