it's the first one i've ever seen thanks for posting, is it U.S.? usually they were packed in 50rd boxes in a spam can of 1600 inside a wooden crate. the boxes i'm familiar with look like these.
Come's from a Dutch military police depot about 25 years ago.
Do not know why, seems to me not specific packed for use in western europe.
Looks more fo use in dessert conditions because of the lead welding.
the only other thing i could think of could be packaged for the resistance movement during the war in the occupied countries with it packed in the lead tin type packaging probably kept it from getting wet if the bundle was submerged in a body of water or such.
