    SOS recap

Didn't get to the SOS due to wife's downsizing two weeks ago.

It would be great to hear from those who made it. I hope those who went

scored some nice stuff. Sound off.....

Just got back from the SOS late last night. Driving home in the winter weather was terrible!

However, I'm happy to report that this was without a doubt the best show I've ever attended!! I'll be taking some photos of stuff today to show you what I all got. I bought a lot, and sold a lot as well, so it was a great show for buying as well as selling.

It was also great to see many of our members faces. Some for the first time! Also, it was great meeting with the P38 forum members. I met Ron Clarin, and purchased his new book, "Spreewerk Production". I haven't read through it all yet, but it's definate a great book, and I would recommend any P38 collector to get a copy of it from Ron right away!

It was great seeing some old faces, like Jeff, Gary, and Denny. I also finally got to meet two great collectors here, Leon DeSpain, and Bill Grist. These two guys I hold the greatest amount of respect for, and it was great to finally talk with them in person. They are both great guys, and very friendly. It was great talking with them both. I only wish we had more time to visit, but at the show, everyone is so busy with thier own agenda.
We should seriously try and arrange a get-together so we can just sit, have a few beers, and talk guns and holsters!

I'll start another thread to show what I all got.

I do have one very funny story about the show. Something happened to me Friday at the show that has never happened to me before! I had not, one, but two different guys try to LITTERALLY buy the shirt off my back!!! I was wearing a black Heinkel He111 T-shirt that I got at an air show in Tucson, AZ several years ago. Two guys wanted to buy it off me!! That tells you what a great show it really was!!! I kept the shirt btw, because with my body, I don't think I could've pulled it off walking around topless!!!

Just because I'm old, you don't have to rub it in, whippersnapper!

Seriously, it was a great show. Matt, hope you enjoy the rifle..

        Denny,

I didn't mean your faces were old! I ment that I've met you before, and haven't seen you in a few years!

It was a great show, and I had an excellent time. Thanks again for the nice rifle. I just wish I would've found you earlier, and seen the other two nicer rifles you had!?!

          A Great SOS

I surely was a great SOS, many friends were there and that is the most important part of this show, there was something for everyone.. I doubt if anyone went home without a new goodie to add to their collection.. I am already looking foward to attending next year..Good collecting everyone...BILL

Bill it was great to finally meet you there. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the rifle band that you asked me to look for. But I'll keep an eye out for one!

I definately left with some "goodies". See my other post to view some of th stuff I got.
