nice pistol, i have a RemRand in the same serial range mine is a few hundred away from your S.N.# mine is 1423770. most of the pistols in the serial range our pistols are in were shipped to the Navy. checkout this 1911 web site. http://coolgunsite.com/mainpage.htm

I carried a '43 dated Remington Rand when I was in the army, 1970-1972. They must have made a blue million of them as I own one now.

RemRand made the most pistols of all the other contractors making pistols during World War 2
