    Help Identify Gun/Value??

    Could someone please help me out with this gun. My friend has this and is interested in selling it. He just has no idea what its value is ? If anyone needs more pictures, i can get more! Thank you in advance for any help given! Its greatly appreciated.

              Its a sporterized WWI mauser 98.

              How is the bore?

              Its value is as a shooter - I can only imagine someone buying it as a truck gun or something like that.

              Bad bore - not worth much.

              Good bore - not worth much either - couple hundred at most?

                Rifle

                I've seen similar rifles at yard sales, and even Pawn shops occasionally for 100$ or so. A cut stock can always be switched out for a military stock (often the replacement stock and bands will cost more than the rifle in this condition), but as you can see it's been drilled and tapped for a scope, once the metal is altered it's "history" so to say...                   I have to agree, it's not worth a lot- to me I'd say $100 at most. It's been to Turkey, as it has the half moon above the receiver, or was meant for Turkey- odd that it has the 1920 Permission stamp as well. Either way, it's a deer slayer now.
