    Identification please!

    Can someone give me the correct name of this twin mg? It donĀ“t seems to be regular mg34s.

      It looks like the mgs that are supposed to be used in tanks.they have the solid barrel jacket with out the air cooling holes.


      MG34 Panzerlauf
      German tanks used the MG34 Panzerlauf for secondary armament almost exclusively for the duration of the war. The MG42 was ill-suited for internal/coaxial mounting due to the method of barrel change. The main difference of the MG34 Panzerlauf was that it had an armored barrel shroud that was much heavier and lacked the normal ventilation holes of the basic MG34. When mounted inside a tank the MG34 also lacked a butt-stock. A kit for quick ground use transformation was carried inside the tank containing a butt-stock and a combined bi-pod and front sight assembly.

              The mount is the zwillingssockel anti-aircraft mount for the MG34. It is interesting that both the guns are the panzer model of the MG34.
