Problem with 8 MM Mauser Norma Ammo

I have some 8x57 JR marked ammo wont chamber into my WW2 Mauser rifle. Anyone know why and what the "JR" stands for??? Thank you

JR is for rimmed and will not chamber in a 98

I think that I might still have an ammo can somewhere with Canadian 8mm in boxes in it. I don't have a recollection of shooting any because it was supposed to be a little hot for autoloaders. And never got around to using it in a bolt action. Opinions? FP
