    I think this is one of those cases where there probably isn't going to be a clear answer. Either you are comfortable with the idea that the factory used 2 different die sets, or you are not. Looking at the finish on the parts, the amount of wear, the patina, etc. I am comfortable that those are the original parts and the factory actually did use 2 different die sets. Unfortunately for the seller, I am not looking for a deactivated Luger!

      I have seen mint Lugers coming out of the woodwork untouched for 70 plus years and they had slight differences in the numbers as in this particular case.
      I remember seing it also in a Luger that was completely rusted and pitted for being all its postwar life inside the holster.
      I have also seen this feature in MP40's.
      In my opinion this is a fine Luger.
