    My 1911

    Hi all,

    Here is my 1911 Colt.
It is American made for Russians! Look markings in the frame!

Finnish officer used it in "41-44 against russians
The slide is repaired by finnish army ordnancedepot, because during the action Shrapnel hit it off!!

        Interesting

The serial number is for a commercially produced pistol manufactured in 1916. Is it possible it was in the hands of the White Russians to begin with? Did the U.S. government ever purchase guns off of the commercial market to give to allies, or did the Russians obtain it some other way? An interesting piece to say the least. Have you attempted to translate the Russian markings?

Colt made about 50 000 piece model 1911 to russians during the WW1.
And those kyrillic markings, Angl Zakazt (I'n not sure did I spell it right) meaning
          English Order!

Finland was part of russian then and here were lot of russian soldiers in those days.
When Finland became independence country 1917 those russian soldeirs disarmed and guns what they used remained here, among very small number these model 1911 Colt pistols!
