mp 40 sling; opinions?

Hi Friends,
i've just bought a mp40 sling marked STOLLA WIEN for my Maschinepistole from an Ebay member; what do you think? Post war model?

I don't know what Stolla means, but Wein is Vienna. If your sling is post war, judging by its worn condition, I would think not a lot after the war. The small leather piece near the buckle appears to be a replacement. Regardless, I think it would look fine on your MP.

To my knowledge, this is not actually a MP40 wartime sling, but instead is a postwar sling made for the Austrian StG58 rifle. It looks almost identical to the MP40 sling, but the buckle hardware has small differences and the crosshatch texture on the leather isn't the same as the German wartime slings.

I use one of these on my MP40 and keep the original in storage. The StG58 slings sold for $20 each a few years back.
