Coloradocowboy, It appears your garand has its original barrel mated to original receiver......11-44 is the correct barrel date for a Springfield Armory receiver in the 3.3million range.....However, the original WW2 stock should exhibit a SA/NFR proof on the backside below the receiver.....Yours shows a square P proof on the grip which is postwar......And the triggerguard is marked W.R.A., which is Winchester instead of Springfield......Nice looking rifle.....Bodes

I would tend to think with wood being a part more susceptible to damage and wear, it would be something replaced not reconditioned......Bodes
