Assembling MP40 Dummy Gun w/ Orig Parts?

I've been looking for an MP40 dummy gun and am thinking of assembling one from original parts.

Since I plan to use a solid receiver and would not need internal parts, would it be more economical to buy individual parts than to get an expensive "parts kit?"

I would say yes. There is currently a complete matching lower assembly on gunbroker that is only $550. you could get a dummy barrel and pick up the other small parts for maybe $500 more. This is only a $1050 as compared to the starting rate of $1500+ for a mismatch kit
