    Exactly! I competed in IPSC from '77 to '96 and always preferred a 1911 in some confirguration. They are still constant range companions. Nothing beats it!

        BEAUTIFUL pistol Ron!! I carry a Colt Commander as my preferred Concealed Carry weapon myself.

          It is a very nice gun.
          However as the certificate states, It is an Army pistol shipped to the Navy , not issued to the Navy.
          Here is what an Navy issue pistol looks like

            ...nice. When I was in the First Marine Division in the mid 80s, my battalion had a WWI era .45 in it's armory, still in the USMC inventory
