    Beretta M34 - worth it ?.

I have an old timer buddy whom got a real decent Gardone 1944 32 beretta in swap. He's asking $350 for it. I'm sort of tempted , but I've not had a M34 in 20 years ( my last one was a 380 cal 1942 dated rig w/spare mag & holster with the original ammo still in the magazines. I paid $200 for that rig 20 years ago...yeah I know those were the days.
Anyhow this M34 in 32 cal has no rust or pitting , a little handling wear to blue , but perfect bore, original grips and magazine. Frame has the UT oval proof. Don't know if it's worth haggling on.

I been watching these on gunbroker.

Nice ones seem to be going in this range.

I have seen more asked, but they are not moving.

Mike ; I felt the $350 somewhat high myself, was not for sure though as I have not messed with these pistols in many moons.

        I agree that's a lot.
I been wanting one and have kept an eye on thr auctions.

$350 will get a real nice one, but they start about 250 and go up.
Guys at shows and dealers want a bit more, but don't see them jumping off tables.

The .380s seem to be a bit more.

I don;t want one bad enough to pay $350 myself.

I agree with Mike here. If it's really nice, and has the "4UT" proof, then I would say it's probably worth that much. However, without seeing it, it is impossible to tell for sure?

Boys a nice .380 with two mags and holster just went for $305 on gunbroker.
I got a couple projects going so not buying right now.

            Snooze you lose.
            This was not too bad.

I think the economy is slowing some of this stuff.

Excuse me but, what does the UT marking mean?
Why does it seem to boost the gun's price?
              Where was it located?
              Too many questions, sorry...

The 4/UT is a German military acceptance mark, apparently only found on Beretta pistols made in the last years of the War. The stamp mark is located on the left side of the pistol's frame, to the rear of the grip.

The price difference is due to the fact that it probably went to the German military.

Well I went and got it off the old fella ... got a decent package deal with a little haggle effort. Not bad , and as usual it shoots as nice as I remember the last M34 I shot.

                    I believe it's a Model 1935 not 1934
                    I misread the post . I thought you were buying a 32

I was under the impression these were all M1934's.

                        Same pistol just different models depending on caliber;
                        m34 is in 9mm Corto (.380 Auto)
                        m35 is in 7.65 (.32acp)
