    New PPK!!

I just picked up a PPK eagleF Police, dural frame. Serial number is 428275k.
Looking at a couple of books (including Still's) , the earliest reported number is in the 428300 range. I'm all happy and stuff...again!!
I'll get some pictures up later.

      Tim,

Didn't you get the memo? All Walther PP & PPK pistols in northern Indiana are supposed to belong to me!
      Let's see some pics....

Only thing I don't understand is, that books, which I do read & consult (Pay attention, new guys!), say that this 4th variation should have black grips. These grips, even though you can't tell from my pictures, are that mottled looking brown color. Maybe the original grips got screwed up and replaced??? Or could it have come out of the factory with these, since those were all they had on Monday morning and the foreman of the Walther Werkes had a bad hangover from too much sauerbrauten and bier!!???

That looks to be a really nice pistol. Hard to tell on the grips. I've owned two - one had black grips & the other had brown. Hopefully Joe W. will comment.
I love that plum color on a dural frame.

When did Walther start using a dovetailed rear sight instead of the rear sight that was integral to the slide?

The grip screw and its attachment look replaced.

Beside that, very nice catch! One of 1500 ...

                            TP,

That's a very nice and rare bird!
It's soooooooooooo nice to own such "ground breaker" gun. I would report this one directly to Mr. Still. It would be nice to have this guns mentioned by its serial number on his next book!

                            Congratulations!
