Japanese Paratrooper Rifle

I picked up a Japanese paratrooper rifle and was thinking of selling can you
guys tell me what it should go for?? The stocks match but the bolt is 3 or 4 numbers off.. I will post one picture.

Checking the auction sites will give you the best indication of current market value. That's probably also your best place to sell it.

Para Take downs are rare these days even with mismatched bolts. Id say with the US money worth not much @4 cents on the dollar , id figure at least 2500 and possibly as high as 4 grand depending on whos bidding , and how much they like it. . You might want to run it on gunbrokers.com and see what your best bid would be. i dont think you have to sell it if it doesnt go at a price you may not be comfortable with.The thing that makes it desireable is the mum is there, so its most likely a vet captured bring back. Mum not defaced Always adds a premium. But thats my gut feeling, to be honest with you. In fact i think back in the 80s they were bringing close to that for matching examples except they are basically dried up now and only suurface occasionally. If you arent into it too dear, id say hang on to it as its great trade stock if you would rather have nazi stuff. Just dont trade for common stuff , and trade retail for retail. dont sell your rifle at a wholesale price , and trade for a retail price . Be sure the items are also verified as equal value before letting it out of your hands, and to someone who wont trade you a bunch o crapola..who has a good reputation of being honest. The japanese at times replaced stocks, and bolts in the field by their combat armorers. It may have been brought home just as it is. Go back and ask the guy you got it from to see if he has any history on where he acquired it.Or the guy he got it from, My suggestion is do your homework extensively yourself before proceeding. If it had capture papers somewhere down the line and you can locate them thats even better. Just a thought, that might get some more action on your question.

Thanks alot I am going to the SOS this year and will bring it along to sell there, it would be nice to get that kind of money for it. I dont think it would sell for that in the midwest.

As a comparison, I sold my Type 2 at last year's SOS. It was an excellent condition rifle. The bolt matched, but the front half was mismatched and the mum was ground. I sold it for $1,000.

On this rifle the stocks match full mum I think it is worth $1800.00 to $2500.00. the rifle is in great shape

I agree with mike 2500 is way high. More like 1500.

That is a fair price on that site, although I have seen matching/ground ones for sale for around 900 dollars. A mismatch one will not get 2500 unless someone really likes it.
