Did I do ok or screw up?

I went to a coin dealer today and he said he had an old german gun in the back. What he had was an almost complete parts minus the receiver for an original MG34. I can buy the complete group for 350 for it. I am not really in this type of parts collecting, but I have seen just a bolt go for 300$ on gunbroker. I would love to hear how I did and how I should sell this, as parts or the whole group?

          Mg34

It is a 34-41, I did not pick it up to put in my collection. I just knew that I had seen them for sale at 800 to 1600. I though I could sell it for 650 and make a couple of $ for my trouble. I am disabled and live on a small income, so try to supplement my income with a bit of buying and selling of thing I enjoy. One or two slip by and get in my cabinet. But I am going to post this one for sale. Thanks

You should do VERY well on this parts et, considering what you paid! I would part it off and sell parts like the buttstock on Ebay, and you will make much more doing that than by selling it as one whole kit. I do that with guns, and it works much better. Some people need just that ONE part, and are willing to pay a good bit for it, but don't want to buy another whole parts kit. Just my two cents worth, but I think you would much better that way. Anyhow, good luck either way!

I got an offer of 650 plus shipping and up charge for paypal. I was a bit nervous as after christmas I did not have a lot of $ to spare. I took the offer and should have paypal payment soon. Thanks for all the help. This hobby is so big it is hard to know everything. I rely on many here to give me opinons on all the areas that I am not in the know about. Thanks again.

I think you did just fine. The sale price is a fair deal for the purchaser, plus you just pocketed $300 profit for minimial effort. All in all, a nice deal for both you and the buyer.
