I confess that my first thought was that it was a Spanish-made pistol, mainly because the inscription "American Pistol..." in the slide. This kind of English inscriptions was a very common feature on most of the Spanish pistols of that time. But the Crowned/N puzzled me and thus I prefered to keep quiet.
It's interesting to note that, from 1927 on a capital letter was used as proof to gun made in Spain, where which year was given a specific letter, starting with "A". So your Walman was made before that year as it lacks this proof as far as I can see.
