Well, here's the only TR Christmas gift that I found under my tree this year, and I was very happy to receive it!
It's a 1939 dated BSW. Serial numbers do not match, but the assembled parts all match very nicely. The receiver is a blank, made by Allegheny Arsenal that matches the rest of the parts perfectly and classifies this as a 'non-gun'.
You can not tell that the receiver is not real unless you flip up the top cover and look inside (there is no inside). It was machined out of aluminum and finished to match the rest of the parts. There are 90 rounds of authentic, 1939 dated ammo, in the double-length belt.
I am unlikely to ever be able to afford a fully-matching, or operating version (especially because I live in NYC) so this is a welcome and fine addition to my collection, that displays VERY nicely.
Hope you all got the things you wanted, and that you have a Happy, healthy and safe New Year.
Cheers,
Bob.
