I was on the other end of fortune!

    Hello,
the rarity of this firearm, led the previous owner of my STG44, to sell it cheap, so he could bid on this!! small world,,,,,,, PS,HE QUIT biding on it at 75k,,,,,,,

        I guess I would take.......

.......their realized auction prices with a grain of salt......For example a G41(lot 217)with most of its finish gone selling for $9200.......I know of an advanced collector who recently sold one at Rock Island and wasn't able to get more than $4500 for it (with 90%+ bluing)......Something doesn't smell right IMO......Bodes

I have an item here from my great grandfather that is similar to item 452. He purchased it after fighting in the Franco Prussion war. But mine is a very rare 12inch carbine version . Wonder what that would go for?

I remember thinking a guy in Texas was nuts for paying $15,000 for an FG-42 in the 80s. Looks as if it was a decent investment.

              It's a bargain.. !

These are easily 700.000 upto 5 million.. and all the other guns are heavily underprized too..
              I think they're on drugs !

              Jos.

Julia auctions are well attended and heavily advertised. There are many advanced collectors who only by from the Julia auctions. The rifle that surprises me is the M1A1 with D-Day provenance that sold for 20k!

I don't know how much I believe all these prices. The FG42 doesn't surprise me as much as some of the other items.

I mean they have a M1a1 paratrooper that sold for over $20,000!!!! Makes my M1a1 seem like a steal!!! Maybe I sould carve some initials in it, and make some papers for it, and add another "0" to the price!

And an AK47 that sold for over $43,000!!! That's rediculous! You could pick one up in Afganistan for nothing!

I can understand FG42 price easily as it is rare gun.

But look those other prices like Sten Mk1(32000$) or Suomi M31(23000$).

I bought both of my Suomi´s(all matching, low serial) at less than 300euros...

That may be be but this is an early Soviet manufacture third (final) version of the AK-47 with a slab side magazine, with a blocked chamber though. The Afghani AK:s are often (home) made in the crude workshops of the Pakistani Darra province. That aside I agree it is quite pricey for a demiled AK.

I was not just the FG that explaines that price. It was the scope and mount. This is one of the only 4 existing totally original FG mounts of this type .And i think this one was even matching the gun.

I think only wealthy people wo dont know what to do whit there money.

FJ swarmed al over the place in my part from the country(NL), i think i can still find a Stg44 for free...Maybe a FG42 is very, very hard to find, but i know the are amongst the people...
I thought there was a financial crises going.......
