MP 40 m.Z. - meaning?

Hi all,

not sure if this is the right thread. I have a Soldbuch with a weapon entry for an M.P. 40 m.Z. - the entry is from 1945.

Now I am pretty sure what an MP 40 is but does anyone of you know what m.Z.
stands for? Surely it can't be "mit Zielfernrohr", can it? Maybe the meaning is very obvious for you weapon experts - but I have no idea.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Michael, Certainly not.....Mit Zielfernrohr means with optical sight I believe.....MP40's never had scopes......Bodes

that is what I thought. A scope on an MP40 would not make much sense but
what might m.Z. be then?
