    Swedish M96 rifle

Picked this up today, all matched except the floor plate, original sling and rates about 95+% on blue, mint bore and the stock is near perfect, only bummer is it has a import stamp on the bottom side of the barrel but for the price was worth it. Any thoughts why the muzzle is threaded?

Nice Rifle ---- The Swede's were excellent craftsmen.

The threaded muzzle is for the blank adapter. They would fire wooden bullets as blanks... Mostly found on newer rifles like the M1938, than this one I think.

Thanks Ronnie! It's a real nice rifle and the condition is excellent, I here these are good rifles and from the looks of it what I've heard is right, nice and tight.

Dunno stats, but it is more common than not to find threaded muzzles on long rifles.
There was a flash hider as well.
An enormous number of these were imported in the 80s.

One of the smoothest actions-2nd only to Krags, and accurate as all get-out.

SAMCO had a lot of these and sold a screw on cap for the muzzle.
