1916 DWM Luger

Hello forum...

I bought this Luger today.

He wanted $700, and I got it for $675 (I did try for $650).

It looks like a decent all matching 1916 Luger... but... the grips are reproductions, and the clips don't match.

The holster looks like something homemade from the 1950's.

I think I can get addicted to these :-)

Nice Luger at a very good price. Lined holster looks pretty good, not made in any home that I have been to lately, I agree that it is post WWII and maybe by a few decades.

I would suggest that you get some nice condition WWI DWM grips for it and they come up for sale from time to time on Ebay (for example), this one is worth putting back to original parts.

I figure the extra clip with worth about $100.... and a decent set of grips are about $100 too?

Is there a way to tell the difference between WWI and WWII grips... and DWM vs. Erfurt?

Nice!!!!! You got a really good deal! Lugers are going through roof now. I have a 1917 Erfurt completely matching but it's rougher in spots than the DWM.

As for the grips the WWII versions have the Waffenamps stamped on the inside. I have a mismatched shooter luger that has one grip with the Waffemamp and the other marked S/42.

Lugers are addicting, In addition to the two above, I've got a Mithcell and a 1920 .30 commercial.

If this is your first luger then that an awesome find!!
