I was there for g-war 1 so how does that come in to this debate sorry lost??Back to the debate shot both 20 years ago as now in the UK your kitchen knife may get you locked up!Me friend as I was too young at the time had both and think his k98 was better but with the mass of production you must get better or worse examples,so if I have to come down with it the german gun on what I have had in my hands was the best.

I went to a gunshow this weekend, and when I looked at the mausers, the machining marks on mausers are harder to see than on the Arisaka. The Germans were really anal about making a pretty rifle.
BTW, last comment about the bullet size being to wound enemies. My dad told me that he was told that at the M16 course when he was in the military. I doubt the guy supposed to teach them about the M16 would get that wrong.
