Picture 1 is an Type I Eagle's Head Inspection mark S5. Time frame is May15, 1918- April 1919 on Colt 1911s.
Yours was made after June 5, 1918 by the placement of the UNITED SATES PROPERTY mark location.
The trigger on your is incorrect. And I hope you are not the one who used a buffing wheel.

Herbert, the 39 is an inspectors (Colt) marking and the Eagle S5 marking is the Springfield Armory inspection marking showing acceptance of the weapon at the Armory. the pistol has be re-finished and buffed; it is in the Black Army range of s.n#'s it would have had a dull black finish hence the moniker Black Army congrats nice pistol. i have one a few s.n.#'s away from your that is an arsenal re-finish with an Ithaca slide
