    Harry,

many thanks for your pictures, they helped me a lot.

    @ all:

I just bought a matching MP43, see one of the sellers pictures below. As soon as I have my MP43 here I´ll show better ones.

There is one picture that makes me to think about so I want to hear the opinions of you, gents. Unfortunately the seller is not available for the next few days and I can´t stop thinking about it:

Take a look at the marked point at picture no. 2 and 3 can that be an DDR-Police marking (example picture 4)? I´m not sure the literature I have shows this kind of stamp always on the left side of the arm. Have you ever seen StGs with DDR-stamps on the right side? I forgot to mention: NO Russian X on my MP43.

Your MP43 was reshaped after war. it was pulled the pin out, the standard(cannon) was gone back up.

              it is in same numbers?

However the MP43 was product on 1945! Good piece!!

I doubt the "flat" stock was original to the rifle. I've only seen them on very late XE dated SWJ and "aj" block fxo rifles.

The funny looking stamp on the right side of the receiver has been discussed on other forums. I have seen it on several Erma and Haenel rifles. It is probably a Merz Werk stamp although many cos coded MP44s do not have it. Yet another mystery!

                  Craig
