    Question about varnish removal

    I have a R/C K98 on estand,if it don't sell soon, I want to remove the old finsish with out sandingor damageing the wood. looking for ideals on how to get the finish off.

          Well i'll probably get shot down in flames here but i took a stanley blade and turned it on its side and scraped the shelac of my mosin nagant sounds a bit aggressive but it worked a treat didnt damage the wood at all

            Personally, I'd leave it alone and let the buyer do what they want with it. If you still want to take the finish off, I know of people who stand by Easy-Off oven cleaner. Spray that on the stock, leave it for 5 minutes, and hose it off. Goodbye (hopefully not original ) finish!

            More info. This guy gets kind of agressive, using the sander, but I think that step can be skipped:
