    Alan.

Is the 38/42 in your collection now ???
If so, congrats; if not, keep trying !!!
Yeah, your ammo looks like the cupric-nickel plated rounds we typically see
with war-time ammo. With the 1944 dated case and the direct source, there is no doubt about that !!!Thanks for posting pics.
Makes me wonder about my ammo. though...More research is needed.
Local gun show this weekend. Maybe I can get 'lucky'....
Also, the 20-round and 10-rounds mags are hard to come by.
I got a 20-round with mine, and I was told by the seller that they are "rare" ( I hate using that over-used term !!) Nice weapon and sling.

    Thanks dhunter for the compliment.

      Andrew,

Nope - the gun is still the vet's, but he and I shot it recently and I've been cleaning it up for him. I'll keep trying!

      Take care,

      Alan

        Alan.

        Happy New to everyone.
Here are some pics of some war-time ammo. and the box.
This may help you Alan. I'm thinking the "962" on my headstamp is 1962
production. This stuff is 1943 dated and has the cupric-nickel projectiles...

Lastly, the open box with the stripper clips...
Apparently, the Italians used stripper clips and magazine loaders
(like most Armies) with the Barettas, though reference information is
scarce. I have found a mag loader, but I do not know if it is war-time
            until I order it.

Hello Captainhoot, only one of the bayonets (the extendet one) you show fit to the MAB 38A, but not to your that lacks of the clasp.

Hello Alan Smith, if I see weel one of your magazine is for the MP40, can you confirm?

                Kanister,

Yes, in my photos in this thread there is an MP-40 magazine shown (next to the 40 shot Beretta magazine). There are also two (2) German MP-28 magazines (20 shots each) shown in the photos. The non-Beretta magazines just happened to get caught in the photos because they were on my workshop table for cleaning, at the same time my veteran friend brought his Beretta MP38/42 over for cleaning.
