    WWI Holster with white cover

Hello My first post in this forum. I picked up this 1917 dated holster this week. I'm guessing the white cover is for an MP but I really don't know, this isn't my area of collecting. What type of pistol would this be used for? Thanks for any information. Kirby

The holster is for a US Model 1911 .45. I have no idea about the cloth cover but it sure fits the holster well.

            Regards, Leon

Wouldn't white be SP= short patrol? I thought the MPs used black holsters. At least my brother did in the 1960s with his 1943 date M1911A1 holster.

Probably US Navy/Coast Guard Shore Patrol, equivalent to Army Military Police.

Shore Patrol is correct. I have a complete SP rig set up the same way as this one is but with a later holster.

                  cheers
