Congrats on your Moisin Nagant rifle pick up. They are a lot of fun to shoot and the ammo is very cheap. Just remember to clean it very well after shooting the old corrosive ammo! Don't bother looking to find a sheath for the spike bayonet that came with your rifle. The Soviets did not issue any. That's why you always see photos of These rifles with the bayonets attached. I have seen the leather type of scabbard for the long spike bayonets. I have been told that these were only for special guard troops!

Finland manufactured and issued bayonet scabbards and frogs for the tremendous ammount of Mosin-Nagant rifles and carbines that they had on hand at Independence, captured from the Russians during the Winter War, and the large number of re-builds they made. Sometimes these are offered for sale.
