    PPSh41

Hi Guys, in the thread about the SVT40 Paul mentioned that he would like to see my PPSh41's. Here they are; the top one is 1945 dated where as the bottom one is dated 1944.
This has always been one of my favourite weapons.
    Cheers, Ade.

Bolt and return spring. Note the chamber is cut and pinned.

Detail of the how the bolt was cut and welded in place. You can also see the weld from the pin to the chamber. I know our American friends will be horrified by all this. But it is the only way we can own these now
      Cheers, Ade.

Very nice. In New York I have to settle for a PPSh-41 with solid receiver. It isn't quite the same but I still like that I have one.

You going to tell that to the million strong Chinese army that used the PPSh-41 in the Korean War!

My favorite is still my MP44!

Hi Peter, I have an MP44 too ( it is featured in a past thread) that and the PPSh41 are my two favourite weapons

I first fell in love with the PPSh41 as a child. In my home town is Nottingham Castle. The Notts & Derby Regt (The Sherwood Foresters) have their regimental Museum in the Castle. They have a very rare PPSh41 on display. It is a Soviet 1943 dated example that was captured by the Germans and converted to 9mm to take the standard MP38/40 magazine. (The gun is displayed without a mag)This weapon was recaptured by the Russians and given to the North Korean Army. It was then captured by an Officer of the Foresters in South Korea and brought back to Nottingham. If only it could talk! I will be visiting the Museum next month as we will have friends from Holland staying with us, so I will take some pics and post them here. I have heard of one of these 9mm convertions selling in the States for $20,000 as a full auto on licence.
                Cheers, Ade.

Peter, I am little bit here - I have never interested about Asian wars.. Did "the million strong Chinese army " lose? Anyway, Russians didn't
Your favorite gun is MP44 because you have it or you have it because MP44 is your favorite gun?

Adrian, how do you like these WW2 Russian toys? Isn't

Funny you should say that as "we" have one of these too. Lez my wife says it is hers. She always wanted me to buy one of these long before we collected Soviet Great Patriotic War stuff. Here is Lez manning the DP28 at a show a few weeks ago. The gun is dated 1943 and is all matching numbers. This one is "old spec" pre 1995 deact and will still cock and strip.
                    Cheers, Ade.
P.S. We need a sling for ours, any one got one for sale?

I had never heard of that before?

BTW the 1944 issue DPM in your photo is quite hard to find. Most I have seen have been Chinese made copies.
                        Cheers, Ade.

The Korean War ended in a tie! But the weapon of choice was the PPSh-41. I think a lot of the non-guns sold in the USA these days are from North Korea or China, not the USSR.

And the MP44 is just my favorite gun of WWII, so that is why I finally bought one.

Adrian, you are luckier than I am - I had never seen them

Hi Guys, I have taken the pics of the German 9mm converted PPSh41 that I mentioned in post number 8 of this thread. Hope you find them of interest?
