Hi ron,

The MkIV to the tripod head indicates once again it is the service pattern.

No 25 is the actuall tripod serial number ( they had thier own )

DP is once again drill purpose showing that the tripod had been assigned these duties.

The 1923 is interesting as it would indicate that was australian manufacture between the wars , i have only seen them marked 1929 tho.

The tripod head did not seem to show any manufactures marks.

Can you show a couple of pics of the slotted feet and the riveted parts of the tops of the legs and i will show them to a couple of lads .They may be able to shed some light on them.

Every time you suggest to look at a different part of this tripod, I discover something different.

While shooting the attaching bolts, I found more marks.

HS in the oval is for H E Smith sydney australia. The legs however are different to the standard service types.

Good of you to show the bottom of the foot, slotted and spiked. Not usual at all .
