Is there anyone here who knows of a source for black AK-74 handguards? Specifically the WZ.88 tantal. I am having trouble finding the correct furniture.....however I see these things in black all over the internet! Again this is the AK-74(WZ.88 tantal) ....not the AK-47.....the upper handguard is not interchangeble between the two. At this point the idea of painting the handguards is not appealing to me. Hopefully one of you may know. Thanks, Dave T.

I'd fine one of the companies putting out the black sets for the AK-47 and ask if they have them for the AK-74.

Jason beat me to it, K-Var usually has a nice selection in stock, Not positive but you may want to try Arsenel as well. Also Gunbroker.com may help

Only late series of polish Tantal wz. 88 had black handguards.
Most of produce were with red-brown handguards.
Very good Polish construction.

K-Var does not carry these unfortunetly , I called today. As for Tapco I actually did get the handguard set in black that is labeled for "AK" rifles about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I specified to the vendor that I needed AK-74 handguard specifically and he said the set I bought would do......I had my doubts...but didnt have the rifle with me at the time. I was right. I think it is the Wz. 88 that is the odd bird that simply wont accept the upper handguard from other variants. Ohlau, you are in Poland! Do you have access to the black fore-stock(handguards) to the Tantal? If so please let me know and maybe we can arrange something. Otherwise the search continues. Thanks guys, Dave T.Comment
