What is missing from this k98 sniper set up?

    [IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]Hi Guys,

I picked up this Hensoldt Wetzlar 4 x scope marked in the 40k serial range number and jagd ? It seems to be of pre war construction and materials, and the number fits. I wanted to use it as a sniper set up on my russian import from the 90's but...the two forward claw mounts connect to something I don't have.
    Question:

Is this correct for a war time set up?

What is the missing piece that connects the claws?

I put this on ebay but they pulled it within hours because of weapons, even though there are 100's of scopes on there right now. sigh. [IMG]

    Hi PATMAN,

The scope you 're presenting is not for a bolt action rifle.
The set-up of the mount is typical for German and Austrian break-open rifles.

        Patman,

You can use your scope for a K98 sniper setup.
I would go to a qualified gunsmith for installing a new mount, the actual mount is soldered to the scope.

I would install a side rail mount.

thank you and also thanks for the link.

Thanks for the response. I may end up just selling this one and starting over with a more accurate representation.
