Incredible weapon, one I have never heard of before. Not sure though about an SOE connection, if they were made in such small numbers it seems unlikely the British would have got their hands on one or even knew about it. Regards, Clive.

Sorry Cutaway just realized that you mentioned this may have been developed in response to the DeLisle Silenced carbine. Quite possible, but difficult to prove I guess. A very interesting posting. Regards, Clive.

Sounds impressive, although I will reserve judgement on the scientifics as I am far from qualified to comment. However, my experiences of 9mm pistol rounds are somewhat different and have personally seen 9mm rounds fail to penetrate wet clothing at 30-35 metres..let alone skin and bone.

The rounds have no "shocking power" this is a misconception. 52.43 meters per second is necessary to penetrate skin, 62 meters per second to penetrate bone, so at a distance of 120 meters the projectile is still traveling at well over 100 meters per second so is quite lethal. Accuracy is the most common problem with suppressed weapons. Wind especially will push the projectile far off target at the lower velocities they are travelling.

I own several suppressed weapons from .300 Anabis to .22LR so have quite a bit of experience with them.

That happens when you use 90 grain projectiles through a HK MP5SD or similar weapon where it takes all rounds and turns them subsonic. That is the reason 160 grain projectils are the most commonly used. It also depends on what type of clothing you are talking about. Multiple layers of wet wool is actually a very effective form of soft armor. In fact during the Korean War it was very common for .45s from TSMGs or Grease Guns to fail to penetrate the padded winter jackets the Chicoms were using.
