KKW Trainer - Some incredible luck! (And some help needed)

    Hi All

I've always fancied a KKW & finally got one last week. Unfortunately it has an incorrect stock, but I just had to have it. (you know how that works!)

Incredibly, a second one popped up a few days later, all complete & very very nice. That absolutely had to come home with me. Problem is (& this is the bit where I need your help) is that I need a stock for the first one. If all else fails I'll have a stock copied, but thought I'd float this out there first.

Here is a pic of the good one. (I did post it in another thread the other day)

    Thanks in advance.

    Best,..Robert

    Kkw

Beautiful KKW, I just bought one not too long ago as well....as far as a spare stock goes, your chances are pretty slim. You might want to post on some other forums as well in a "want" ad....

    http://gk43forum.com/forum/index.php
    www.surplusrifle.com

That might help to spread the word around about your stock need.... Chris..

Yes, some incredible luck indeed! And, it just got better!

I like KKWs as well. My dad has had one for several decades and he still shoots it at 83.

          Reproduction stock

This fellow lists a KKW on his pattern list (link below). I found his site through someone who posted on having had a kkw replacement stock made and apparently pleased with it. I have no idea about the quality or fidelity. Spare originals are always a good thing to have; I would be loathe to miss an opportunity to buy.

Is the sling the same for the KKW as the K98? I was under the impression that it is different, but it looks quite similar in the photo. Beautiful rifle, by the way! I've got an SA issued model but the vet removed the sling before hanging it up over his fireplace and he assumed his wife threw it away eons ago.
I'd like to add the sling but need to know what I'm looking for!
            Thanks!

              - Wehrsport - 98K sling was used
              - Deutsches Sportmodell - there is a different sling without frog

Dont ask me how long it took me to get a original stock for a G33/40
a barn find without stock, and i could get only a laminated stock for a 945/1940

Spareparts ... you cant have enough

I have been trying to look for one rod to complete my KKW but is not easy.
Here is a picture of the sling which is different from the K98

The KKW sling is described in Jon Speed's book where he shows the original design specification drawing. The sling is not the same as a k98 sling differing mostly in the H-buckle. The sling shown in this thread appears to be correct, though the end should be pointed instead of rounded and the first hole about 3" from the pointed end. --d.

Hello, what's that about the Deutsches Sportmodell "sling without frog"? Just curious as I have a DS by ERMA unfortuantely w/o sling...and cleaning rod. So I'm in the hunt for the proper sling and also rod. Thanks!
