If I'm not mistaken, the word "Politi" is Norwegian for "police".

Mike, Very nice rifles you have there, I love the G33 And have read somewhere that a no' of these were in fact used by the norwegian Police.

After a long search I very recently here in CHCH aquired my first Matching no' 98k . A very nice prewar J P Sauer S/147 1936 everything marked and waffeamts down to the cleaning rod and with a nice H (Heer) mark on the stock. No sling but looking hard for a nice early sling to go with it. I now want for a later all matching wartime one. Here's a few pics.

The flash of the camera has made the metal look a bit spotty however it certainly is not that ovious in person

You could be right about this - the small marking next to Politi is very similar to the Norwegian decal that you normally see on the German helmet. Thanks

This means that the rifle was used post war by the norwegian police. Is it still 7.92x57mm?
