Guys, opinions needed on a Mauser K98

Hello all. I have the option to buy this Mauser K98. Being sold as a nice unmessed German made example of 1944 manufacture which has not been modified or refinished, but I would like to hear your opinions and views regarding it as well. Thanks all.

M6. Note: bolt is period but the numbers do not match the rest of the numbers.

The last one shows the effect from some apparent sanding of the stock against the serial numbers in a couple of places.

From the pics it looks like a decent matching rifle. It looks like it is missing much of the finish. Maybe somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall that this is common on late war CE (J.P. Sauer and Sohn) rifles.

Some purists won't touch a K98 unless the bolt matches. I guess it comes down to your personal tastes. I'm O.K. with a mismatched bolt.

I guess if the price is right it might be worth it, especially if the site hood and cleaning rod are both original. Those are always the hard parts to find.
