        Hi Joe & Vid:
I have no idea and that's one of the reasons I posted this here. Here's a link to the auction so you can see for yourselves.

Come on, Hitler's elite? sounds like BS to me. Why wouldn't they use a war time manufactured Luger?

Post this on the Luger forum, the guys there would know for sure.

Feel free to post this where ever you wish. I am not a member of the Luger forum. I just thought the membership here would be interested in seeing this.

Jim, I appreciate the post. I was only poking fun at adjective used. And now I find that it is the auction using the adjective. I surmise that this Luger was of similar design to those flashlight equipped Sauer 38s that I believe are documented to the RSD. Very interesting battery design.
Possibly the 7.65mm Parabellum Luger was used for civilian bodyguard purposes because 9mm Lugers were considered war materiel and not available for civilian purposes.

I know this pistol. I believe that the auction house has engaged a third year English major to do their write ups. They have completely flubbed the background of that pistol. This pistol is believed to have been used by one of Hitler's personal body guards in the period prior to his ascension to power in 1933. The design and workmanship are incredible.

To someone interested in Luger holsters the AKAH holster is equally amazing.

is the flashlight part made by the same people who made the Sauer Modell H flashlights?

It would be important to put a timeline on the flashlight.

this is a very interesting rig.

                      thanks for posting.
