So is it a 41 or 42 date byf ?. Like to see pics of the mag serial as well. These pistols as you likely already know are way over valued and fraud is old school on these . Anyhow a byf41 or 42 is not "rare". Lacking a holster and spare mag is a hit of sorts. So what's the mag bottom & barrel serial look like ?.

In the interest of fair play, does anyone know of any 3rd Reich item that brings 4 figures and up that is not "hyped to high heaven"? If so I would like to hear about it.
We have Lugers, the most sought after war souvineer of WWII and the most famous automatic pistol in the world...with around 1M made during the 3rd Reich selling for maybe 50% more than a 98k with around 12-13M made during the same period (for only only comparison).
In the days of standard FJ helmets at 7k and RKs at 12k..... SS 33 dagger's for 4 to 5k and for pete's sake a worn non marked SS EM buckle flying off the shelves at $500 to $600.....I'm trying to understand what is so ghastly about P.08 prices?

The going price for one that condition will be closer to $1800+ if the mag is mismatched.....with a matched number mag I think that the price would be near $2300-2400 easy.
Really nice holsters will be hard to find for under $300 and minty ones will be closer to 400+.....I've seen some pigskins and near mints ones sell for over $600...so there is a big spread in pricing.

For USD 1,200.00 you can't afford three mint PABs these days. And, to say the truth, I wouldn't change a Luger for 3 PABs...(only comparasion, as said above!).
That's a nice Luger by the way.

I would buy all 1941/1942 byf Lugers that you can find if matching and in the condition of the one above for $1,200 and be imediately able to sell them for that $1,800+ range mentioned above. The one that sold on this Forum recently with holster and extra magazine for $1,400 was a bargain. The Luger market, like the WW2 German medal & award market is a pretty solid place to invest your money right now.
