    G41 or G43

which is better G41 or G43?
i mean for collectors...which is more desirable? how many were these produced?

The most desireable weapon of these two is definately the G41! To be more specific, the G41M!

There were two versions of the G41, the G41M, and the G41W. The G41M was made by Mauser, and these are extremely rare, and highly sought after rifles! Prices of the G41M are usually double that of the G41W!
Just a side note here. I had a chance to buy an all matching G41M GI bringback, about 5 years ago for $2,000. I tuned it down! (didn't have the $ at that time! )

The G41W, was made by Walther. These are more common than the G41M, but are still much rarer than a G43. Prices of the G41W are usually double that of a G43.

Here you go. On top you see G41W. The second one is G41M. They are quite different.
        (Hope posting pic works!)

            Ken,

Thanks Ken! Man those are some awesome looking rifles! I love them all!

            Sturmmann,
I didn't know you had a G41? If you would've told me that, then I would have said that you have a 95% chance that it is a Walther and not a Mauser. The Mauser ones are very rare!
Did you just get it? Please post some pics of it, so we can all drool over it, like I'm drooling over Kens' rifles right now!

Ken, are those deactivated weapons? I remember seeing the Chicago Regimentals display at the Jan 2001 Black Hole show in Tokyo. They dewat the weapons differently there than back here in the US, so I know your weapons are in pretty good shape

Mattitude, yes they are deactivated. I got them from the Chicago Regimentals in the middle 90s. The rules for deactivated weapons have been changed.
BTW, I read your post on G-K Forum. I'm glad you liked your stay in Japan!

KenT, I loved Japan and they basically made me leave kicking and screaming I have been trying to get stationed there again for the last 2 years and I plan to retire over there. You scored pretty good on the G41's as I haven't seen any advertised in ARMS or COMBAT magazines in years. I personally have a nice G43 ac44 coded and a G41 ac43 coded rifle. Both are excellent shooters. I would say by far that the G41's are worth more than G43's...and from what I have seen recently the gun is worth more in parts than the whole thing!!!! It seems that people are parting out thier guns to get more cash. BTW KenT, I had the same wood panels in my house in Misawa-shi

Thanks bnz.42, they are now only for display but I love them all.

Mattitude, do you read Japanese? You can see more pictures of my guns on my friend STEINER's site.

BTW, I hope you can make your way back to Japan and live in a house with the wood panels again.
